Mrs. Martha Rothenberg was instantly killed on May 23, 1936, when the car she was driving crashed into the side of a milk truck at South Woodland and Warrington Roads in Shaker Heights. Four other women in the car were slightly injured.

Mrs. Rothenberg was dead on arrival at St. Luke’s Hospital. Also taken to the hospital from the scene of the accident were Miss Lillie Bell Henley, 57, of Cincinnati; Miss Anna Blake, 45, of 2215 Delaware Drive, Cleveland Heights; Miss Cora Wolf, 65 of 1647 East 117th Street, and Miss Hattie Buchmann, 60, of 1636 East 117th Street.

None of the four was severely hurt, and Miss Wolf was released after being treated for bruises.

Martha Rothenberg was born in 1885 to Aaron and Theresa Hahn. She was the sister of Edgar A. Hahn, who lived at 10200 Lake Shore Boulevard. Martha married William Rothenberg on December 14, 1915.

William Rothenberg was born on August 19, 1883. He was educated at Central High School in Cleveland and received an A.B. degree from Harvard. After receiving a LL. B degree from Cleveland Law School, he began the practice of law in Cleveland.

William Rothenberg died in September 1945.
