William H. Dornback Jr.

William Harold Dornback, Jr. was born on September 9, 1921, in Cleveland and graduated from East Technical High School. He was a teenager when he started working in the business his father had started as a hardware store in Glenville in 1907.  He was the CEO of Dornback Furnace & Foundry when he retired in 1978.  Under his leadership the firm expanded nationwide and into foreign markets with sales in Europe, the Middle East and Australia.

He married Loretta Alexander, who was born on August 15, 1921. They had four children: William Harold III “Bubba” born on March 3, 1944, Janet Amelia (Brumbaugh) born on April 17, 1942, Kenneth Jack, born on January 12, 1946, and Lorene Ann “Renie” (Hannan) born on July 24, 1947.

During World War II, William served as a Petty Officer 3rd Class machinist mate in the U. S. Navy.

He was active in Masonic organizations, including Acacia Lodge, Al Koran Shrine, International Association of Shrine Yacht Clubs and groups in Florida. He was a member of the Wickliffe Kiwanis Club and a charter member and past president of the Shoreview Kiwanis Club.

Loretta died on August 30, 1987. William died on April 13, 1999, in Marathon, Florida. Both were buried in Acacia Masonic Memorial Park Cemetery in Mayfield Heights, Ohio
