Henry & Eliza Clark

Henry Freeman Clark was born in 1839, the only living son of Edmund and Anna Maria Clark. Henry's father was a pioneering Cleveland banker.
Henry married Eliza Crowell, daughter of John Crowell, in 1859 at the old Trinity Church in Cleveland. They had one son, Robert Henry.
Their first home was at the corner of Superior and Water Street (West 9th Street). They then built a house on the south side of Public Square, where the May Company eventually stood.
Henry died on May 21, 1873. Eliza died on June 19, 1920 and buried alongside Henry in Lake View Cemetery.
