{"id":7610,"date":"2021-09-27T09:58:09","date_gmt":"2021-09-27T13:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bratenahlhistorical.org\/?page_id=7610"},"modified":"2021-09-27T10:08:14","modified_gmt":"2021-09-27T14:08:14","slug":"martha-rothenberg","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bratenahlhistorical.org\/index.php\/martha-rothenberg\/","title":{"rendered":"Martha Rothenberg"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1>\n\t\tHistory\n\t<\/h1>\n<h2>\n\t\tTragic Happenings\n\t<\/h2>\n<h3>\n\t\tMartha Rothenberg &#8211; Died in Car Accident\n\t<\/h3>\n<h5>\n\t\t343 Bratenahl Road\n\t<\/h5>\n\t<p>Mrs. Martha Rothenberg was instantly killed on May 23, 1936, when the car she was driving crashed into the side of a milk truck at South Woodland and Warrington Roads in Shaker Heights. Four other women in the car were slightly injured.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Rothenberg was dead on arrival at St. Luke&#8217;s Hospital. Also taken to the hospital from the scene of the accident were Miss Lillie Bell Henley, 57, of Cincinnati; Miss Anna Blake, 45, of 2215 Delaware Drive, Cleveland Heights; Miss Cora Wolf, 65 of 1647 East 117th Street, and Miss Hattie Buchmann, 60, of 1636 East 117th Street.<\/p>\n<p>None of the four was severely hurt, and Miss Wolf was released after being treated for bruises.<\/p>\n<p>Martha Rothenberg was born in 1885 to Aaron and Theresa Hahn. She was the sister of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bratenahlhistorical.org\/index.php\/edgar-hahn\/\">Edgar A. Hahn,<\/a><\/strong> who lived at 10200 Lake Shore Boulevard. Martha married William Rothenberg on December 14, 1915.<\/p>\n<p>William Rothenberg was born on August 19, 1883. He was educated at Central High School in Cleveland and received an A.B. degree from Harvard. After receiving a LL.
