It is hard to realize that twenty-seven years have passed since I drove down Eddy Road to Lake Shore each morning to enter Bratenahl, a world all of its own. A friend of mine who lived in Euclid and worked in Cleveland once told me that he drove through Bratenahl each morning just to get his inspiration for the day. I think that I must have felt the same way. Seeing the names of the students who responded brought back the best memories of all, for in Bratenahl each student was special. To know that as adults they have become useful productive citizens makes me proud that I was once a part of their lives.<\/p>\n
It was good to hear about Mr. Digby and Ruth Blanchard. They were both excellent teachers and good friends. Also it\u2019s good to know that Marjorie McClelland is still \u201csharp as a tack.\u201d I\u2019m afraid that my \u201ctack\u201d has become somewhat dull.<\/p>\n
Today I\u2019m living in Hilliard, Ohio, in a semi-retirement complex. It allows for independent living without the problems of managing a home. I am about 15 minutes from downtown Columbus. I have two nieces who live nearby. I still drive my car and enjoy the activities of everyday living.<\/p>\n
[Mary “Mamie” Ruth Mounts was born on November 26, 1907.
